Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a child she was enrolled in at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma chose to be an actor at age six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing as well as dancing, and also acting. When she was ten, she had performed and taken part in many Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents via their Oxford teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions Emma as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. The film set records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. The film was praised by critics and its performances by the three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's performances "amazing". Emma received five awards in recognition of her work in the film.
